Ramadan In UAE To Start On July 10

The crescent moon will be seen on July 9, signaling the start of Ramadan the next day. Eid Al Fitr holiday will commence on August 9.

The first day of Ramadan will be on July 10, according to state news agency WAM, after it was officially announced by Sharjah Planetarium at the Department of Culture and Information.

The start of the Islamic holy month was confirmed after the Planetarium revealed the Ramadan crescent moon will form on July 8 at 11:14 am and set a few minutes before sunset at 19:08 pm.

“The crescent will be seen on July 9th in the evening. So the first day of Ramadan will be July 10th, astronomically, corresponding to Ramadan 01, 1434 H,” said WAM.

It was also confirmed that August 9 will be the first day of the Eid Al Fitr holiday as well as the first day of Shawwal, the tenth month in the lunar Islamic calendar.
