Home Technology Cloud Port of Fujairah opts for Oracle cloud to accelerate growth and support global trade The port has automated finance, human resources and supply chain functions to enhance business agility and speed up daily work by Divsha Bhat November 11, 2022 Port of Fujairah has chosen Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications Suite for finance, human resources and supply chain to improve insights, reduce costs, enhance employee engagement and streamline its global procurement process. The port has implemented Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Resource Planning, Oracle Fusion Cloud Human Capital Management and Oracle Fusion Cloud Supply Chain and Manufacturing. With Oracle Fusion Applications, the port can take advantage of the cloud to break down organisational silos, standardise processes and manage financial, HR and supply chain data on a single integrated cloud platform. With quarterly update cycles, the applications will also give the Port of Fujairah access to continuous innovation, as new features are added every quarter, without downtime or business disruption. “The Port of Fujairah is a key global trade enabler and our strategic location and infrastructure help us provide an essential trade corridor between East and the West and support several economies”, said Khalil Ebraheim, deputy managing director, Port of Fujairah. “With access to advanced capabilities such as AI, machine learning and a stream of continuous innovation every quarter via Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications, we’ll be able to better predict and detect changes in demand to meet the needs of future global trade and achieve our ambitious business objectives” he added. “As the global trade industry continues to shift at a record pace, seaports need to tap emerging technologies to enhance their operations. In other news, last month, Oracle and HSBC announced a strategic collaboration to accelerate the bank’s digital transformation. Under the multi-year agreement, HSBC will upgrade and migrate select database systems to Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer, a cloud platform delivered as a managed infrastructure service in HSBC’s data centres. The deployment will support and scale the bank’s mission-critical systems and services.
