Parents of children studying in schools across the UAE can opt for their preferred mode of education.

The freehand is accorded to parents for the first term of the new academic year starting August 30, and is applicable on schools that come under the Ministry of Education (MoE) purview.

“Parents have been allowed to freely choose between their children’s mode of attendance, face to face at school or through distance learning, for the first term, to achieve stability within the school community, and to ensure the safety of our students, while meeting the requirements of physical distancing,” the MoE tweet read.

“According to latest developments and based on the current health conditions, careful plans have been made to ensure a gradual return to study in all UAE schools without exception, for all the various educational stages,” MoE added.

Private schools in Dubai also have the leeway to choose an approach suitable to them, depending on the size, location and number of students. Schools can accommodate students in either one or multiple shifts, and have the option of providing either partial or full distance learning alternatives depending on their agreement with parents.
