OSN to stream Friends: The Reunion in the UAE simultaneously as worldwide release

When American television sitcom Friends aired its season finale on May 6, 2004, 52.5 million US viewers tuned in to watch it, making it the fifth most-watched series finale in history.

Spanning a decade, the comedy series featuring Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer, won 62 Primetime Emmy Awards including the Outstanding Comedy Series award in 2002.

It ran for 10 seasons and covered 236 episodes. The star-cast will, for the first time in 17 years since the show ended, be coming together on the original Warner Bros. soundstage, Stage 24, for a one-time unscripted special.

Called Friends: The Reunion, the episode is also known as The One Where They Got Back, and will release worldwide on Thursday, May 27. Here within the UAE, entertainment provider, OSN has confirmed that its viewers within the region will be able to watch the special episode at the same time as the world release.

Friends: The Reunion which will be broadcast on OSN has been produced by the show’s original creators Marta Kauffman, Kevin S. Bright and David Crane.

The episode, shot before a live audience, will also feature several guest stars including David Beckham, Justin Bieber, James Corden, Cindy Crawford, Kit Harington and Lady Gaga, among others.
