Home GCC Oman Oman orders two-week night curfew, shuts all beaches The sultanate has warned of strict action against violators by Aarti Nagraj October 10, 2020 Oman has ordered a two-week night curfew starting from October 11 to curb the growing spread of Covid-19 in the country, the Supreme Committee handling the Covid-19 crises announced on Friday. The nationwide curfew – including prohibition of movement and lockdown of all public places and commercial outlets – will run from 8pm to 5am. It will be in place until October 24. All beaches in the country will also be closed until further notice, the committee said in a statement. Some businesses and activities that failed to adhere to precautionary guidelines will also be closed, it said, without naming them. “Names and pictures of offenders who violate the instructions will be published in the media,” the statement said. “The Supreme Committee urges all, particularly young people, to fully abide by precautionary measures at the individual and collective level. All should refrain from family and social gatherings,” it added.
