Oman extends visa-free period for citizens of 103 countries for upto 14 days

The step is part of efforts to bolster the tourism sector of the sultanate

Citizens from the 103 countries are now allowed to enter Oman without securing a prior visa and can stay for upto 14 days, the sultanate’s police has announced.

The Royal Oman Police took to Twitter to confirm that the step was part of efforts to bolster the tourism sector of the sultanate.

However, the aforementioned countries were not specified.

Earlier this week, Oman announced that it would be closing its land border for at least a week, starting at 6pm on Monday, January 18.

Although the land borders have been closed for a week, the Supreme Committee reiterated that this period can be extended.

As of January 19, Oman has reported a total 132,146 infections, including 135 cases that were recorded over the preceding 24 hours.
