Motorists in Abu Dhabi will pay Mawaqif parking fees from July 1, Abu Dhabi’s Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) tweeted.

The ITC urged the drivers to use electronic payment methods to pay the fees via mobile phones or the Darb application.

This directive came post a three-month suspension period during which drivers were exempted from paying any fee, in light of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

On March 16, the Abu Dhabi government announced a massive stimulus package aimed at shoring up the economy and supporting businesses that included provisions for suspending all road tolls until the end of 2020 and exempting commercial vehicles from annual registration fees also until the end of 2020.
