Home Lifestyle Culinary Michelin Guide Dubai 2024: list revealed The MICHELIN Guide Dubai 2024 selection includes four new one MICHELIN Star and six new Bib Gourmand restaurants by Gulf Business July 5, 2024 Image: Supplied Michelin, the world-renowned culinary guide, unveiled its highly anticipated 2024 selection for Dubai at an event hosted at the One&Only One Za’abeel hotel. This year’s guide featured a total of 106 establishments across 35 diverse cuisines, which impressed the discerning Michelin Inspectors. Gwendal Poullennec, international director of The Michelin Guides, praised Dubai’s evolution into a global gastronomic destination, stating, “Dubai’s culinary appeal transcends borders, attracting talented chefs and restaurateurs worldwide. With its rich diversity of cuisines and dining styles, the city offers something truly exceptional for every palate.” Issam Kazim, CEO of the Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DCTCM), said: “We proudly celebrate the third edition of the MICHELIN Guide Dubai, reflecting on our journey from its debut in 2022, to celebrating the expansive list of selections this year. Led by acclaimed British chef Jason Atherton and nestled on the 45th floor of The Grosvenor House, Row on 45 offers an intimate dining experience for 22 guests, blending Japanese ingredients with French culinary techniques to deliver exquisite dishes. Additionally, Dubai welcomes four new one Michelin Star restaurants, including La Dame de Pic by renowned chef Anne-Sophie Pic, known for her modern French cuisine infused with subtle local influences. The Smoked Room, a creative venture by Chef Dani García, and Sagetsu by Tetsuya Wakuda, blending Japanese and French influences, also earned one Michelin Star each. Orfali Bros, recognised for its globally influenced small plates, joins the list with a Michelin Star. Maintaining their distinction from last year, the 2023 one Michelin Star restaurants in Dubai continue to impress, bringing the total to four establishments with two Michelin Stars and 15 with one Michelin Star. In addition to the star ratings, Michelin awarded six new Bib Gourmands in Dubai, recognising restaurants offering exceptional quality and value. Among them are DUO Gastrobar, Revelry, Berenjak, Hoe Lee Kow, REIF Japanese Kushiyaki – Dubai Hills, and Konjiki Hototogisu, each celebrated for their unique culinary offerings. Special awards The Michelin Guide also presented special awards to outstanding individuals in the hospitality industry. Jesus Lobato Suarez, head chef at Smoked Room, received the Young Chef Award for his exemplary leadership and culinary expertise. Jesus Lobato Suarez with his award Michael Mpofu, the South African Sommelier at Celebrities by Mauro Colagreco, was honoured with the Sommelier Award for his impeccable service and extensive beverage knowledge. The Service Award went to the team at DuangDy by BO.LAN, recognised for their exceptional Thai hospitality. The Opening of the Year accolade went to The Guild, located in ICD Brookfield, lauded for its versatile dining options and striking design.
