Michael Barclay, prominent British dignitary and army veteran, passes away

Brigadier Michael Barclay, an eminent British pioneer and accomplished army veteran, has passed away, Gulf Business has found out.

He shared a special relationship with Dubai and its people.

A man of several roles, Barclay was an erstwhile adviser to Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

He was also known to have commanded the Dubai Defence Force, one of the three defence forces before the unification of the armed forces in 1976.
