Home Covid-19 Message from the top: Jack Long, CEO, Tecno Mobiles ME As companies across the GCC tackle the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, regional business leaders reveal insights on what their organisations are doing and offer advice on how to deal with the current crisis by Jack Long May 11, 2020 At the beginning of 2020, the sudden outbreak of Covid-19 disrupted people’s normal lives. As the British poet John Donne said, no man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent. This rapidly evolving threat around the coronavirus is impacting almost every industry across the world. To fight against this pandemic, the situation needs our joint efforts. Tecno Mobile is not only focusing on business continuity to service local consumers, but also on what we can do to serve humanity to help fight against the unprecedented problems created by the coronavirus. Our top priority is the health and well-being of each and every one of our employees, associates, and their families during this pandemic. We have developed specific contingency plans and are carrying out actions to ensure that the impact of this pandemic on the physical and mental health of our employees, associates and our daily work is minimised. On-line meetings and collaborative project management programmes are the approaches that are helping us manage work while maintaining social distancing. Active preventive measures, an optimistic attitude and a strong physical outlook are essentials to get over this situation. Although there is a shutdown and it does affect business, yet where there are problems, there are opportunities. Like many other international brands, we are also thinking about and focusing on opportunities to eliminate the impact on our business during this tough time. For example, as e-commerce may see a surge, we will see how we can adapt and integrate it into our current channel strategy. This not only improves work efficiency, but also lowers operational cost. If we continue to provide superior products and customer service, and maintain relationships with supply chains, after this crisis, we are sure that the demand of smartphone purchase will return to normal and we will be ready to meet market and consumer demands. As a leader and a socially responsible company, Tecno Mobile is making efforts to help people understand how to cope with Covid-19 and how to protect themselves appropriately. Besides information sharing through social media posts and infographics on Covid-19 prevention, we also produced some interesting short videos with our amazing partner, the Manchester City Football Club, on how to have a lively daily life during this stay-at-home period. Expect more and socialise less; stay healthy and stay safe. We are sure we can overcome this situation very soon.
