Marriott International and King Abdullah Financial District Development & Management Company (KAFD DMC) have sealed an agreement to bring W Hotels to Riyadh’s King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD).

Set to debut in 2025, W Riyadh will feature 210 guest rooms and suites, seven dining venues, bespoke retail spaces, and expansive event facilities.

The hotel’s blueprint includes signature W spaces like the Living Room, WET Deck, AWAY Spa, and FIT fitness centre.

Riyadh is a key destination for Marriott

Chadi Hauch, regional VP – Lodging Development, Middle East, Marriott International, affirmed the strategic importance of Riyadh as a burgeoning global hub, emphasising the city’s allure to both leisure and business travelers. “This monumental signing underscores the increased demand for distinctive luxury brands in the capital,” Hauch noted.

The partnership aligns seamlessly with KAFD’s strategic vision of enriching Riyadh’s lifestyle offerings, catering to the evolving needs of travelers seeking elevated luxury experiences. Gautam Sashittal, CEO, KAFD DMC, hailed the collaboration as a pivotal milestone in KAFD’s expansion journey, underscoring W Riyadh’s role in positioning KAFD as a premier lifestyle destination.

Strategically located a mere 20-minute drive from King Khaled International Airport, W Riyadh will be nestled within the King Abdullah Financial District, the world’s largest LEED-certified mixed-use business destination.

Spanning 1.6 million square metres, KAFD aligns with Vision 2030’s focus on sustainable development, reflecting Riyadh’s rapid evolution into a global business and tourism hub.

“The kingdom has surpassed Vision 2030 tourism expectations seven years ahead of schedule which sets the stage for future growth. As a cornerstone initiative of the kingdom’s vision, and in keeping with the new national target of 150 million visitors by 2030, KAFD is primed to stimulate and accommodate these growth plans,” added Sashittal.

In other news, Marriott International has inked a deal with NEOM to open its second ultra-luxury Ritz-Carlton Reserve in Saudia Arabia in Trojena, the mountain destination located in the northwest region of the kingdom.
