Tech-enabled global health powerhouse M42 has forged a strategic investment partnership with the UAE’s Ministry of Defence to manage and operate Zayed Military Hospital in Al Batayeh, Sharjah.

The collaboration aims to provide world-class healthcare to over three million people across the UAE’s northern regions, including military personnel and their families.

The partnership was formalised in an agreement signed by Major General Dr Aysha Sultan Aldhaheri, executive director of the Military Health Executive Directorate in the UAE Ministry of Defence, and Hasan Jasem Al Nowais, MD and group CEO of M42.

This marks a significant step in advancing the UAE’s healthcare infrastructure by integrating specialised medical services in the northern regions.

The collaboration will see M42 deliver healthcare services through satellite clinics operated by leading medical institutions, such as the Imperial College London Diabetes Centre (ICLDC), Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi (CCAD) and Healthpoint.

“We are pleased with this first-of-its-kind military-civilian partnership to deliver world-class medical services to our servicemen, women, and their families, as well as the wider population,” said Dr Aldhaheri. “This collaboration underscores our commitment to the highest healthcare standards and strengthens our role in the national health ecosystem.”

Al Nowais added, “Our partnership with the Ministry of Defence expands our healthcare footprint, ensuring access to specialised services in the northern regions. Together, we are transforming healthcare delivery in the UAE by bringing advanced care closer to those who need it.”

M42, which operates hospitals and clinics in 26 countries, will officially commence full-scale operations at Zayed Military Hospital – Al Batayeh in early 2025. This partnership is the latest in M42’s local and international expansion, following its recent launch of a tech-enabled diabetes facility in Al Dhafra and the opening of an Amana Healthcare facility in Bahrain.
