Home UAE Dubai LOT Polish Airlines begins flights between Dubai and Warsaw The airline will operate thrice weekly direct flights between the two cities by Varun Godinho September 28, 2021 LOT Polish Airlines has begun operating flights to Dubai International (DXB) earlier this week. The inaugural service from Warsaw’s Chopin Airport (WAW) to DXB Terminal 1 on Sunday, September 26, makes LOT one among the 60-plus international carriers which fly to Dubai. LOT is operating thrice weekly direct flights on Sundays, Mondays, and Thursdays between its home base in WAW and DXB on a 168-seater Boeing 737-800NG with a two-class configuration. LO121 departs from Warsaw at 7.40am and arrives in Dubai at 3.25pm. LO1222 departs from Dubai at 5.15pm and arrives in Warsaw at 9.35pm. Apart from the direct flights, LOT also operates a flight between the two cities with a stopover in Istanbul. LO135 will depart from Warsaw at 1.05pm. DXB’s passenger volumes in the second quarter of this year totalled 4.9 million, taking the half yearly figure for 2021 to 10.6 million, a year-on-year contraction of 40.9 per cent. DXB is serving around 68 per cent of the destinations in 94 per cent of the countries on 70 per cent of the airlines compared to before the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. DXB recorded a total of 99,392 flight movements during the first half, a year-on-year increase of 0.9 per cent. The Dubai’s airports chief recently said that the number of international visitors may more than double next year as the easing of Covid-19 restrictions. “We’re going to see a very sharp up-tick,” Dubai Airports chief executive Paul Griffiths told Bloomberg Television last week.
