Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait

Founded in 1971, the Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait (BBK) operates in India and the UAE as well as its birthplace namesakes. Its shareholders consist of a mix of Bahrain’s government, banks and investment companies in Kuwait and the general public.

The lender recently opened its first branch in Kerala, taking its total in India to three.

A joint venture between BBK and Geojit BNP Paribas is expected to launch soon, offering non-resident Indians acess to the Indian capital markets, the first Kuwaiti company to do so.
