A CO-FOUNDER OF GIH in 1998, Al-Ghunaim stepped down from her position as chairman of the company in September 2014, before being re-elected vice-chairman by the board in November. She helped GIH to become the first Kuwaiti firm to list on the London Stock Exchange, and now boasts positions on the boards of Qatar Endowment Fund and National Industries Group. She is also a member of the Financial and Investment Committee at Kuwait Chamber of Commerce & Industry. Recent reports suggest Al-Ghunaim is looking to sell GIH’s 51 per cent stake in Oman’s Al Jazeera Steel Products.
