ISSAM ALZAHID IS chairman of the Alzahid Group of Companies, a Saudi Arabian conglomerate with a history of infrastructure building stretching back to the 1950s. It is behind much of the basic transport infrastructure upon which the kingdom still relies. With around $11.6 billion to his name, Alzahid coordinates a group that employs over 41,000 employees, with additional interests in mining, oil and gas, information technology, foodstuffs, retail and many other sectors. Moves last year included the formation of a facilities services joint venture with OCS Group.
