THE PRESIDENT OF global R&D at the world’s fourth largest pharma company, Sanofi, has reportedly opted to stay on at the company following the ouster of the CEO who hired him. A well-recognised radiologist and medical researcher, Zerhouni’s work led to major advances in CAT scanning and MRI on the back of which he founded or co-founded five startup companies. From 2002 to 2008, he also served as the director of the US National Institutes of Health and he was one of the first appointed US science envoys to Islam in 2010.
