LAST YEAR, MARAFIH continued to oversee the rebranding of his telecom giant’s various units under the Ooredoo name, including its Omani operation. He also achieved another milestone with the opening of its latest network in Myanmar, boosting Ooredoo’s global footprint, and saw the company launch 4G+ services in Doha. It wasn’t all good news, however, as in Kuwait the company saw a large drop in profits and cut 165 jobs.
