Le Royal Méridien Abu Dhabi To Unveil New Lobby

Hub designed to promote guest interaction, showcase arts and offer day-and-night F&B

Le Royal Méridien Abu Dhabi will unveil its new Hub lobby this evening – the latest part of a wholescale renovation covering all 200 rooms in its Deluxe Tower and F&B outlets in the established, centrally located hotel.

The Hub, divided into Arrival Experience, Interaction Zone and Latitude 24 Bar (serving Illy coffee by day, a bar by night) mirrors other ‘hubs’ that Starwood has been rolling out globally during the last three years which are designed to breathe new life into traditional lobbies.

Art works from Hatty Pedder, a British illustrator and artist based in the UAE, will be unveiled this evening and exhibited in public areas for a month. Alongside work by local artists, the hotel will exhibit works from members of the LM100, a group of international innovators chosen from the worlds of art, architecture and cuisine who use their creativity to develop original, interactive programs for guests.

The hotel’s F&B venues have undergone marked changes, with cleaner and more contemporary designs complemented by modern menus.

The all-day-dining Café Palmier places greater emphasis on made-to-order dishes, and features an open kitchen, while Wheat is an attractive bakery-come-casual-diner opposite.

A 26th floor revolving restaurant, offering 360-degree glass views, and the Italian Amalfi are due to reopen soon, along with Market Kitchen, a new concept inspired by LM100 member Jean-Georges Vongerichten in which guests eat fresh, locally produced dishes in a setting resembling a casual family kitchen.

The changes have extended to the digital lifts, where a 24-hour playlist accompanies guests up and down floors.
