KEZAD to get Dhs90m parts manufacturing unit, Dhs55m solar PV plant

The manufacturing unit, set to span 40,000 square metres, will produce industrial parts, components and machinery for the oil and gas, locomotive, and defence sectors

Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi (KEZAD) Group, a subsidiary of AD Ports and the largest operator of integrated and purpose-built economic zones in the country, has signed a 50-year land lease agreement with Apex Engineering Industries, a UAE-based company to establish a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in KEZAD Area A – Al Ma’mourah.

The facility, set to span 40,000 square metres, represents a significant Dhs90m investment aimed at producing industrial parts, components, machinery, and equipment for the oil and gas, locomotive, and defence sectors.

Mohamed Al Khadar Al Ahmed, CEO of KEZAD Group, highlighted the importance of the project in driving sustained economic growth and supporting the UAE’s strategic vision of economic diversification.

Nooruddin F Daud, partner at Apex Engineering Industries, expressed optimism about contributing to the UAE’s engineering and manufacturing ecosystem, particularly in Abu Dhabi.

The plant will also include unique material treatment processes that enhance the lifecycle of metal wear parts.

New solar plant to be set up in KEZAD

In other news, Abundance Solar Panel Industries, another UAE-based company, entered into a 50-year land lease agreement with KEZAD Group to build a 27,000-square-metre solar panel manufacturing plant in KEZAD.

The Dhs55m facility will focus on producing solar panels and integrated photovoltaic modules.

The plant will leverage cutting-edge solar technology and operate within a sustainable ecosystem.

Both projects mark significant strides in KEZAD’s efforts to foster industrial development while advancing the UAE’s ambitions in sustainability and economic diversification.
