JCDecaux wins 10-year advertising contract for Abu Dhabi’s new Midfield Terminal

Abu Dhabi’s Dhs10bn Midfield Terminal is slated to open by the end of this year

Outdoor advertising company JCDecaux SA announced that its subsidiary has been awarded a 10-year exclusive advertising concession for the new Midfield Terminal of Abu Dhabi International Airport.

JCDecaux Abu Dhabi said it will roll out a unique media platform at the Midfield Terminal, including exclusive VIP networks and four media walls measuring 20sqm that will offer an “immersive experience” to passengers.

Brands will have the ability to identify and target specific audiences and facilitate rich-media campaigns, a statement said.

Abu Dhabi’s Dhs10bn Midfield Terminal has faced several delays, and is currently slated to be ready in the fourth quarter of 2019. The exact date of opening has not yet been revealed.

A consortium of Turkey’s TAV Insaat, Athens-based Consolidated Contractors Company, and Dubai’s Arabtec are building the terminal.

Spanning 742,000 square metres, the terminal will increase the airport’s capacity to 45 million passengers a year.

Jean-Charles Decaux, chairman and co-CEO of JCDecaux, said: “JCDecaux will use its expertise in media and audience data to ensure the success of this partnership and build an unprecedented media platform that will set new standards in the industry.”

JCDecaux, which already has an agreement with Abu Dhabi Airports, currently has a regional portfolio spanning 32 airports across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Oman.
