Home Industry Hospitality InterContinental Hotels Group opens Fujairah resort The property features 190 rooms and suites by Staff Writer December 20, 2017 InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has opened its first resort in the Middle East in the UAE emirate of Fujairah. The resort, on Al Aqah beach, is described as combining Arab influences with contemporary design elements and features 190 rooms, among them 44 Club InterContinental Rooms and 38 suites. Amenities include a gym, spa, four meeting rooms, a boardroom and ballroom, family pool, kid’s club, teen’s club and a babysitting service. There are also dining options through international restaurant Nama and beach bar Drift, as well as a terrace bar named Horizon. “This marks an important milestone in our journey in the region, as we expand our luxury portfolio to cater to our luxury guests which include international visitors, residents of the UAE looking for an escape from their daily, hectic routine as well as business groups looking for corporate retreats and unique meeting destinations,” said IHG chief operating officer for India, Middle East and Africa Pascal Gauvin. IHG is managing the property on behalf of owner Al Ain Holding. It adds to more than 81 hotels operating across the company’s InterContinental, Holiday Inn, Staybridge Suites and Crown Plaza brands in the Middle East.
