An analysis by the chamber revealed 4,351 new Indian businesses joining during the period, far exceeding companies from other nations. Pakistan ranked second with 2,222 new members, followed by Egypt at 1,404. The data also reflects a geographically diverse range of new members. Syria placed fourth with 736 companies joining, followed by the United Kingdom (698), Bangladesh (635), Iraq (501), Sudan (379), China (362), and Jordan (343). Trade and services sector sees the most memberships: Dubai Chamber of Commerce In terms of industry sectors, trade and services dominated other sectors with 42.3 per cent of the new memberships. Real estate, renting, and business services followed closely at 33.9 per cent, with construction (9.2 per cent) and transport, storage, and communications (8.1 per cent) not far behind. The social and personal services sector rounded out the top five with 6.5 per cent. The Dubai Chamber’s findings showcase the emirate’s success in attracting foreign investment across various industries. This trend is expected to continue as Dubai strengthens its position as a leading centre for international commerce. In recent news, Dubai Chamber of Commerce established the Qazaqstan Business Council to enhance bilateral trade and investment ties between the business communities in Dubai and Qazaqstan. The establishment of the business council showcases the strengthening economic relations between the two markets. The number of companies from Qazaqstan registered as active members of Dubai Chamber of Commerce reached 589 at the end of Q1 2024. last year, a record numbers of Indian-owned companies became members of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce last year, followed by Pakistan and Egypt.
