Hyatt To Launch New Brands In GCC, Expand Presence

Hotelier Hyatt will be launching its Hyatt Place and Hyatt House brands in the GCC, with plans to expand its presence across the region, it revealed at the annual Arabian Travel Market (ATM) exhibition in Dubai.

The company said that at least nine new Hyatt-branded hotels are expected to open across the GCC by 2017.

Six of them will open in Saudi Arabia, joining the existing Park Hyatt Jeddah Marina, Club and Spa,a statement said.

Currently, Hyatt has 10 properties operating across the region.

“Hyatt’s progress in the GCC has been remarkable, and we are excited about our pipeline for the next few years,” said Tareq Daoud, regional VP – Sales, Middle East & Africa.

“The GCC is a market with multiple demand generators — with travellers and residents seeking premium brands at multiple price points without having to sacrifice quality.

“We’re determined to capture resurgent business travellers, as well as the growing demand in leisure travel, and we will continue to focus on enhancing and diversifying our brand portfolio in the Middle East,” he added.

Hotels opening in 2015/2016 include Hyatt Regency Makkah – which includes 657 guest rooms; Hyatt Place Dubai/Baniyas Square with 126 rooms; the 47-storey twisting glass tower Grand Hyatt Abu Dhabi Hotels and Residences; Hyatt Regency Riyadh Olaya – with 261 keys and Hyatt House Jeddah/Sari Street which will have 104 guest rooms and is due to open in the fourth quarter of 2016.
