GITEX Future Stars: Meet the innovative startups from UAE, Italy and South Korea

With GITEX Future Stars just a few days away, the list of startup organisations set to present at the event aims to bring together the most innovative ideas to inspire positive change in business and society.

GITEX Future Stars – the startup arm of GITEX Global, will be held from October 17-20 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The event is the largest in the Middle East and North Africa, with over 700 companies from more than 60 countries exhibiting, including India, Brazil, France, Japan, Italy, South Korea, and others. In addition, this year will also witness new startups from Sweden, Serbia, Egypt, Israel, Oman, Palestine and more.

The platform provides global startups access to the region’s tech investment and regional startups to gain international exposure and raise funds from international VCs attending the event.

Listed below are some of the startups from the event –

UAE

Pupilar – Targeting the creative and tech sectors, Pupilar solves the highest youth unemployment rates in the Middle East. Creatives and techies lack visibility and recognition of their talents amongst the professionals in the industry since they are filtered using the ATS or CVs, which only gives a little or no discovery of a creative individual. With effective hiring processes and requirements differing from industry to industry, the company aims to optimise the conventional ambiguous and tedious hiring process by devising industry-relevant and holistic solutions for career advancement.

I Hear You – One of the leading names in communication and translation for sign language creates a bridge of contact for all sign language users worldwide. Their mobile application enables users to communicate and translate sign language and vice versa easily, where they create a new world of communication for sign language users allowing them to be heard and excel further beyond their different way of communication.

Italy

Having expanded its pavilion, Italy will have 50 startup businesses under it.

Roboze – Roboze is re-shaping the manufacturing industry and revolutionising the world of 3D Printing with the most precise technology, capable of processing super polymers and composite materials for the realisation of finished functional parts to be used in the most extreme conditions and sectors. The company’s high technical ecosystem includes a complete range of advanced 3D printers for high temperature and high strength super plastics, developed with the collaboration of the best global players. It guarantees a real optimisation of costs and time along the entire supply chain while bringing additive manufacturing closer to traditional manufacturing standards.

Augmented City – An innovative startup created by a team of highly skilled computer vision specialists, Augmented City has developed a unique Spatial Computing platform. Their AR cloud-based browser and creative toolset allow anyone to create a persistent and shared 3D AR experience, both indoors or outdoors, using just a smartphone.

South Korea

Rootonix – The startup was chosen as Brand K, Korea’s national brand project organised by the Ministry of SMEs and startups in 2020, and it was the only company selected in the hair loss and scalp device sectors. In 2021, they received a special prize and a bronze medal in the invention section at the Geneva International Invention Exhibition, Switzerland. In addition, Rootonix awarded four categories of the 2020 Seoul International Invention Exhibition by obtaining various overseas certifications and two types of the 2019 iENA International Idea

Coconut Silo – A spin-off company from Hyundai, is a logistics/commercial vehicle specialised mobility startup. Its advanced freight logistics platform “Cocotruck” connects all types of players in the logistics market into a single place. Moreover, with the use of big data, it enhances efficiency and enables logistics companies to maximise the number of orders received. It also enriches the ecosystem by providing a SaaS (Software as a Service) platform for B2B users to manage their resources easier and become a greener company.
