GCC Update: Saudi reports 518 new Covid-19 cases, 4 deaths; Kuwait registers 119 additional cases

The total number of Covid-19 infections in Saudi Arabia tallies 6,380 while as many as 1,524 people are infected in Kuwait

The Ministry of Health in Saudi Arabia took to Twitter to report 518 new Covid-19 cases on Thursday, April 16, its highest daily rise in infections since the outbreak late last year.

Of the newly diagnosed cases, the highest were reported in Jeddah (195), Madinah (91) and Riyadh (84).

The recent diagnosis has spiked the total number of Covid-19 infections in the kingdom to 6,380.

The ministry also recorded four additional deaths, bringing the tally of coronavirus-induced demises to 83.

An additional 59 patients have recovered from the infection, bringing the total number of recoveries to 990.

Oman
The Ministry of Health announced 109 new coronavirus cases in the country, Times of Oman reported on April 16.

Among the newly diagnosed cases, 12 are Omanis and 97 are expatriates.

Kuwait
The Ministry of Health reported 119 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, Kuwait News Agency reported on April 16.

A total of 1,524 people have been infected in the country till now, while three have succumbed to the disease.

Of those infected, 32 remain in intensive care, while 16 are reported to be in a critical condition.
