GCC Covid-19 update: UAE reports 842 cases; 536 infections registered in Oman

The death toll in the UAE has risen to 402

UAE
The Ministry of Health and Prevention reported 842 new Covid-19 infections and 821 additional recoveries on September 16.

The new cases were detected as a result of 93,682 tests conducted by UAE health authorities to screen for the virus.

The total number of cases have now risen to 81,782, while the recoveries reached 71,456.

The ministry confirmed one additional fatality, with the death toll now totaling 402.

Kuwait
The Ministry of Health reported 698 cases and three deaths in the preceding 24 hours.

The total infection count has risen to 96,999, while deaths total 571.

Oman
The Ministry of Health has registered 536 new coronavirus cases and eight deaths across the sultanate.

In the last 24 hours, 250 recoveries were reported.

The total cases in Oman have now scaled to 91,196, including 84,363 recoveries and 805 deaths, Times of Oman reported.

Bahrain
Out of 11,840 Covid-19 tests conducted on September 15, 678 new cases have been detected. An additional 627 recoveries were also reported, scaling the total recoveries to 54,831.

Qatar
As many as 235 additional people were reported to be infected with the Covid-19 virus in the last 24 hours, Qatar’s Ministry of Public Health confirmed.

The country has a total of 2,841 current active cases.
