GCC Covid-19 update: UAE reports 596 cases, 3 deaths; Saudi registers 24 deaths

The death toll in the UAE and Saudi Arabia has risen to 269 and 549 respectively

UAE
The Ministry of Health and Prevention has confirmed 596 additional Covid-19 cases across the country, in the wake of 35,000 tests conducted to screen for the virus.

The total number of infections has risen to 35,788.

The ministry also confirmed that three Covid-19 patients died due to complications, bringing the death toll to 269.

However, with 388 additional recoveries, the number of recovered cases has reached 18,726.

Saudi Arabia
The Ministry of Health reported 1,869 Covid-19 cases across the country,

Riyadh posted 556 cases, followed by Makkah (300) and Jeddah (279).

The ministry also confirmed 24 deaths, taking the death toll to 549.


Bahrain
As of June 1, 8.30pm, Bahrain had a total of 4,776 Covid-19 cases, of whom nine were in a critical condition. Meanwhile, 19 patients have so far succumbed to the virus.

Kuwait
The Ministry of Health in Kuwait has recorded 887 new Covid-19 cases and six deaths in the past 24 hours.

The death toll has risen to 226 while total registered cases tally 28,649.

Oman
Oman has registered a total of 576 new Covid-19 infections.

The Ministry of Health confirmed that 209 of them were Omanis.

The total cases have now escalated to 12,799.

Qatar
Qatar has reported 1,826 Covid-19 cases and three deaths in the last 24 hours.

So far, 43 in the country have succumbed to the virus while the current active cases total 24,180.
