GCC Covid-19 update: UAE reports 461 cases; 163 infections registered in Oman

The death toll in Oman and the UAE now stands at 609 and 369 respectively

UAE
The UAE has registered 461 additional cases and 131 recoveries, its Ministry of Health and Prevention has confirmed.

The new cases were detected as a result of 72,283 additional tests conducted by UAE health authorities to screen for the virus.

The total number of cases have climbed to 65,802, of which 58,153 people have now recovered.

The death toll, meanwhile, has risen to 369, with two additional fatalities.

Oman
The Ministry of Health has registered 163 cases and 6 deaths on August 20, Times of Oman reported.

The infection tally has risen to 83,769, while the death toll has now reached 609.

Bahrain
As of August 19, Bahrain had a total of 3,493 active Covid-19 cases, of which 38 were reported to be critical.

Meanwhile, 179 people across the kingdom have succumbed to the contagion.

Kuwait
The Ministry of Health has reported 622 additional cases, 871 recoveries, and two deaths in the past 24 hours, Kuwait News Agency reported.

The infection count has risen to 78,767.
