GCC Covid-19 update: UAE reports 346 infections, 2 fatalities; Saudi registers 4,267 cases, 41 deaths

UAE
The UAE has registered 346 Covid-19 cases, as a result of an additional 38,000 tests conducted to screen for the virus.

The Ministry of Health and Prevention has also confirmed two additional deaths.

The total infection count has now scaled to 42,982 while the tally of recoveries stands at 28,861.

Saudi Arabia
The Saudi Ministry of Health has reported 4,267 Covid-19 cases and 41 deaths on June 16, its highest daily fatality count.

The city of Riyadh posted 1,629 cases, followed by Jeddah (477) and Makkah (224).

The death toll has now reached 1,052 while the total infection count stands at 136,315.

Critical cases across the kingdom tally 1,910.

Oman
The Ministry of Health reported 745 infections and six deaths on June 16.

The infection tally has reached 25,269 while the death toll stands at 114.

Kuwait
The Ministry of Health has registered 527 Covid-19 cases and five deaths, raising the death toll to 303.

As many as 36,958 people across the country have contracted the virus, Kuwait News Agency reported.

Bahrain
As of June 15, Bahrain had a total of 5,699 active Covid-19 cases, of which 19 were critical. As many as 47 people have succumbed to the virus.
