GCC Covid-19 update: UAE reports 275 cases; Oman registers 740 infections, 28 deaths

The death tolls in the UAE and Oman now stand at 376 and 637 respectively

UAE
The UAE registered 275 additional Covid-19 cases, 94 recoveries and 1 death on August 24.

The new cases were detected as a result of 71,282 additional Covid-19 tests conducted to screen for the pathogen.

The Ministry of Health and Prevention has confirmed that the total infection count has scaled to 67,282, while the recoveries tally 58,582.

The death toll now stands at 376.

Saudi Arabia
The Ministry of Health registered 1,175 new infections, 2,745 recoveries and 42 deaths in the past 24 hours.

The total number of infections across the kingdom have scaled to 308,654, while the recoveries tally 282,888.

The death toll has spiked to 3,691.

Oman
The Ministry of Health has reported 740 infections and 28 deaths in the past 24 hours, Times of Oman reported.

The total cases in the country have now reached 84,509, including 78,912 recoveries and 637 deaths.

Kuwait
An additional 618 people have recovered from the coronavirus infection, raising the recoveries to 72,925, Kuwait News Agency reported.

Qatar
The Ministry of Public Health confirmed 258 additional infections and 1 death in the past 24 hours.

There are 2,973 active Covid-19 cases currently across the country.
