GCC Covid-19 update: UAE registers 1,431 new infections; total cases rise past 110,000

The new cases mark the UAE’s highest daily rise in infections

The UAE has reported 1,431 new Covid-19 cases in the preceding 24 hours.

The new infections were detected as a result of 103,132 examinations conducted to screen for the virus.

The new cases mark the highest daily rise since the virus was first reported in the UAE. The second highest daily spike, equalling 1,315, was reported on October 13.

The health ministry also confirmed that 1,652 recoveries and two fatalities were recorded in the past 24 hours.

The registered infection count has now risen to 110,039, including 101,659 recoveries and 450 deaths.

Oman
The Ministry of Health has registered 563 new coronavirus cases, 351 recoveries and eight deaths across the sultanate.

The total cases in the country now tally 107,776 including 93,908 recoveries and 1,061 deaths, Times of Oman reported.
