The new infections were detected as a result of 103,132 examinations conducted to screen for the virus. The new cases mark the highest daily rise since the virus was first reported in the UAE. The second highest daily spike, equalling 1,315, was reported on October 13. The health ministry also confirmed that 1,652 recoveries and two fatalities were recorded in the past 24 hours.
