GCC Covid-19 update: UAE confirms 1,002 cases; 568 infections registered in Oman

UAE
The UAE has recorded 1,002 new cases of the novel coronavirus on September 24, its third highest daily increase in new infections since the outbreak.

The UAE recorded its highest daily rise in new Covid-19 cases yesterday, equalling 1,083.

The new cases were detected as a consequence of 93,618 tests conducted by local health authorities to screen for the virus.

The health ministry also confirmed 942 recoveries as well as one Covid-19-related fatality.

The infection count across the Gulf nation now tallies 88,532, including 77,937 recoveries and 407 deaths.

Oman
The Ministry of Health has registered 568 new Covid-19 cases and 10 deaths across the sultanate.

The total cases in the country now stand at 95,907, including 885 deaths, Times of Oman reported.

Kuwait
Kuwait registered 552 new Covid-19 cases and two deaths, Kuwait News Agency reported.

The death toll stands at 592, while the registered cases tally 101,851.

Bahrain
Out of 10,997 Covid-19 tests carried out on September 23, 612 new cases have been detected.

As many as 750 additional recoveries were also confirmed, scaling the total of recoveries to 60,117.
