GCC Covid-19 update: UAE reports 852 cases; 719 infections confirmed in Kuwait

UAE
The UAE recorded an additional 852 Covid-19 infections on September 22, detected as a result of 98,528 tests conducted by local health authorities.

The total number of diagnosed cases has risen to 86,447, including 76,025 patients who have till now recovered from the virus.

The average number of daily tests for the month of August was 65,106, equivalent to 658.3 daily tests per 100,000 people.

A staggering 2,018,274 laboratory tests were conducted in August at the state level to ensure the safety of community members, representing the eighth highest number of assessments worldwide. It was marked an increase of 36 per cent over the number of tests conducted in July.

Saudi Arabia
The kingdom has registered 552 new cases of the coronavirus infection on September 22, raising the infection count to 330,798.

With 1,185 additional recoveries, a total of 312,684 people have recovered from the infection.

Meanwhile, 30 additional deaths were also reported, scaling the fatality toll to 4,542.

Oman
The sultanate reported 660 new cases of the novel coronavirus and 12 deaths, Times of Oman reported.

The total cases in the country now total 94,711 including 86,195 recoveries and 865 deaths, the ministry confirmed.

Bahrain
Out of 11,438 Covid-19 tests carried out on September 21, 713 new cases have been detected. With 676 recoveries, the total number of patients who have overcome the infection now tally 58,626.

Kuwait
The Ministry of Health has reported 719 new infections, 682 recoveries and three deaths in the last 24 hours.

The registered Covid-19 cases have scaled to 100,683.

Qatar
The Ministry of Public Health reported 313 new infections and 226 recoveries in the last 24 hours.
