GCC Covid-19 update: Saudi reports 2,171 cases, 30 deaths; Oman registers 738 infections

The death toll in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait has risen to 579 and 230 respectively

Saudi Arabia
The Ministry of Health has reported 2,171 additional Covid-19 cases and 30 deaths on June 3.

The city of Riyadh registered 683 infections, followed by Jeddah (418) and Makkah (279).

The number of infections in the country has risen to 22,444 of which 1,321 remain critical.

The death toll now stands at 579.

Kuwait
Kuwait has reported a total of 710 cases and four deaths in the past 24 hours, Kuwait News Agency reported.

The total number of registered cases has now scaled to 29,359 while the death toll now stands at 230.

Oman
The Ministry of Health has reported a total of 738 new Covid-19 cases, raising the infection tally to 13,538.

The ministry also confirmed 2,845 recoveries and 67 deaths.

Bahrain
As of June 3, 9am local time, Bahrain had a total of 4,884 active cases, of whom nine were in a critical state. Meanwhile, 20 individuals have so far succumbed to the virus.

Qatar
Qatar reported 1,901 positive Covid-19 cases and two deaths in the past 24 hours.

The country has 24,573 active cases as of now.
