GCC Covid-19 update: Saudi reports 1,645 cases; Kuwait confirms two deaths

Since the outbreak, Saudi Arabia has reported a total of 28,656 Covid-19 cases

The Ministry of Health in Saudi Arabia took to Twitter to announce 1,645 new Covid-19 cases in the kingdom, spiking the total number of infections to 28,656.

The ministry also confirmed seven additional deaths, bringing the tally of Covid-19 induced fatalities to 191.

The city of Makkah reported 287 cases followed by Jeddah and Dammam confirming 261 cases each.

With 342 additional recoveries, a total of 4,476 people have overcome the infection across the country.

Kuwait
The Ministry of Health confirmed 295 new Covid-19 infections and two deaths in the last 24 hours, Kuwait News Agency reported.

The total number of cases has now risen to 5,278, while as many as 40 people have succumbed to the infection.

Oman
The sultanate has announced a total of 69 new coronavirus cases, spiking the total infections to 2,637.

As many as 12 people have died due to the virus.

Bahrain
As of May 4, Bahrain has a total of 1,719 active Covid-19 cases, of whom only one is said to be in a critical condition.

Qatar
The Ministry of Public Health announced 640 new confirmed cases of Covid-19, and 146 recoveries in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of recovered cases in ​Qatar to 1,810.

As many as 16,191 people in the country have contracted the Covid-19 virus.
