Home Covid-19 GCC Covid-19 update: Saudi registers 1,595 cases; UAE reports nine deaths The death toll in Saudi Arabia reaches 200 by Zainab Mansoor May 5, 2020 The Ministry of Health in Saudi Arabia took to Twitter to announce 1,595 new Covid-19 cases in the kingdom, spiking the total number of infections to 30,251. The ministry also confirmed nine additional deaths, bringing the tally of Covid-19 induced fatalities to 200. UAE The UAE reported 462 new Covid-19 cases, resulting from more than 28,000 tests conducted on citizens and residents in various regions of the country. The Ministry of Health and Prevention also confirmed the deaths of nine individuals, spiking the death toll to 146. Kuwait The Ministry of Health in Kuwait has registered 526 additional Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, raising the tally to 5,804, Kuwait News Agency reported. A total of 90 patients are in the intensive care unit, of whom 31 remain in a critical condition. Qatar The Ministry of Public Health announced 951 new confirmed cases of Covid-19, and 114 recoveries in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of recovered cases in Qatar to 1,924. Since the outbreak, as many as 17,142 people in the country have contracted the Covid-19 virus.
