flynas boosts UAE network, with 8 destinations and routes

flynas has unveiled an ambitious expansion plan to add eight new destinations and routes to its UAE network as part of its contribution to Saudi Arabia’s National Civil Aviation Strategy, an initiative that seeks to connect the kingdom with 250 international destinations by 2030.

The budget carrier, which currently flies to Dubai International Airport from Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, and Madinah, will add three more UAE destinations, including Dubai’s Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC), Abu Dhabi’s Shaikh Zayed International Airport and Sharjah International Airport.

flynas will operate flights from Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport to DWC in Dubai and from Jeddah’s King Abdulaziz International Airport to Abu Dhabi and Sharjah on September 1. The low-cost carrier will launch flights connecting Madinah and Sharjah on the same day.

Furthermore, flynas will also launch flights from Madinah’s Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport to Shaikh Zayed International Airport on September 2.

With its operation from its main bases in Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, and Madinah, flynas said the expansion makes it the only Saudi airline serving all the major four airports in the UAE. It also increases flight frequencies to more than 20 daily flights.

flynas’ ambitious growth strategy

Meanwhile, flynas signed an agreement with Airbus in July for 160 new aircraft, including 30 wide-body planes, to increase its purchase orders to 280 planes, underscoring the airline’s commitment to advancing its growth and expansion strategy.

The deal doubles the airline’s total orders to 280 aircraft as it seeks to increase its fleet size to more than 160 aircraft by 2030 from the current operation of 61 aircraft. The expansion is expected to boost flynas’ capacity and range while enhancing its overall fleet capabilities.

The addition of the A330-900 aircraft will support flynas’ ambitious growth plans. The aircraft can fly 8,150 nm/ 15,094 km nonstop and will boast a two-class configuration, accommodating up to 400 passengers.

Since its launch in 2007, flynas has served more than 80 million passengers with more than 1500 weekly flights to over 70 destinations. The airline plans to expand its network to 165 destinations by the end of the decade.
