These routes will operate from its new operations base at Madinah Airport starting from December 1, 2023. Domestically, It will launch two routes from Madinah to Abha and Tabuk. Internationally, five new routes will be operated from Madinah to Dubai, Amman, Baghdad, Istanbul and Ankara. These services will operate alongside four existing routes from Madinah to Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam and Cairo. The latest announcement will bring the total number of routes operated by flynas from Madinah to 11. The airline’s Board of Directors has already approved the decision to increase new aircraft orders to 250 aircraft that would then position flynas as the largest low-cost airline in the Middle East. It currently connects to more than 70 destinations and aims to reach 165 domestic and international destinations. “The launch of these routes from our latest operations base coincides with taking delivery of new aircraft to further upscale the flynas fleet. We are proud to showcase our commitment to Madinah and to expand offerings for our guests, in line with the objectives of the Pilgrims Experience Program (PEP) to facilitate access to the Two Holy Mosques and the National Civil Aviation Strategy to enable national air carriers to contribute to connecting the kingdom with 250 International destinations and to reach 330 million passengers and to attract 100 million tourists annually by 2030,” said Bander Almohanna, the CEO and managing director of flynas. Flynas said that it is the only carrier with four operations bases in the kingdom. The airline recently signed an agreement with Tibah Airports Operation Company to launch that base. “The operations from our new base will start with two aircraft as a first stage, and we are planning to increase our operations and fleet size and to launch more destinations,” said Almohanna. At the beginning of October, flynas said that it had received five A320 neo aircraft over the past month. Those deliveries take the count of the flynas all-Airbus fleet up to 56 aircraft, therefore recording a growth of more than 100 per cent in the last two years. The delivery of the five new A320 neo aircraft raises the number of aircraft received by flynas this year to 11. This year, a total of 19 A320 neo aircraft were scheduled for delivery to flynas.
