With the latest deliveries, flynas has increased the number of its A320 neo aircraft to 43. This single-aisle aircraft therefore now makes up 70 per cent of its total fleet. Overall, flynas now has 60 aircraft, four of which are the A330 widebody variants, marking a 100 per cent growth in its fleet size over the last two years. “The rapid growth in flynas’ fleet while the industry and the supply chain are facing challenges reflects the company’s reliability and its strategic partnership with the top aircraft producers in the world to continue with its plans to increase its fleet size and complete taking delivery of the new aircraft,” said Bander Almohanna, CEO and managing director of flynas. “We are delighted to receive 15 new aircraft during 10 months of the total 19 A320 neo aircraft scheduled for delivery in 2023, within an order of purchasing 120 aircraft from Airbus for a total amount exceeding SAR32bn, which reflects flynas’ commitment to achieving its strategy of growth and expansion by upscaling its fleet and multiplying the seating capacity of domestic and international flights.” Flynas scales domestic and international network Flynas now has four operational bases in Saudi Arabia, with the most recent being Madinah airport from where it has already announced several new routes. It will start operating from there on December 1, 2023. Domestically, It will launch two routes from Madinah to Abha and Tabuk. Internationally, five new routes will be operated from Madinah to Dubai, Amman, Baghdad, Istanbul and Ankara. The expansion of its fleet has allowed it to also ramp up its offerings from its other bases within the kingdom. Last month, it launched direct flights to the Ethiopian capital of Addis Ababa from Riyadh and Jeddah. Furthermore, it will begin two new routes to Brussels and Bahrain from Jeddah and Riyadh respectively. From November 15, it will launch direct flights between Saudi’s capital and Bahrain International airport. The new route will be operated with seven flights per week between King Khalid International airport and Bahrain. It will also launch its first direct flight from King Abdulaziz International airport in Jeddah to Brussels airport on December 2 and will operate that route with thrice-weekly services.
