Firefighter dies in Fujairah traffic accident

The car accident occurred on Wednesday in Rul Dibba

A firefighter in Fujairah was killed in a traffic accident on Wednesday while off-duty, local media reported.

The operations room of the Department of Civil Defence of Fujairah received a report about the accident in Rul Dibba at 2.30pm.

Officials rushed to the scene and attempted to free the people who were trapped in the vehicle.

During the rescue operation, the civil defence team noticed that among those trapped in the car was their colleague, warrant officer Khalid Obaid Al Ruli, who died after suffering serious injuries.

The victim worked as a firefighter at Dadna Civil Defence Centre.

Colonel Khaled Al Hamoudi, deputy director of the Department of Civil Defence of Fujairah, said: “We lost one of our heroes who was known for his good manners and dedication to work.”
