Home Transport Aviation Emirates to operate one-off A380 service to Bahrain this week Emirates has flown to Bahrain for the last 20 years and has since then carried over 6 million passengers between the two countries by Varun Godinho December 14, 2020 Dubai carrier Emirates will operate a special one-off A380 service to Bahrain on Tuesday, December 15, a day ahead of the kingdom’s 49th National Day. The airline said that the decision to deploy the A380 was in response to high passenger demand during the National Day holidays in Bahrain. The A380 service will operate as EK 839 and EK 840, departing Dubai at 4.05pm and will arrive in Bahrain at 4.25pm local time. The flight will then depart Bahrain at 5.45pm and land in Dubai at 8pm. Passengers coming from Bahrain, along with three other GCC countries do not need to take a Covid-19 PCR test prior to departure. Emirates has said that it has flown to Bahrain for the last 20 years, and since its first flight to the kingdom, it has carried over 6 million passengers between Bahrain and Dubai. It currently operates double daily flights to Bahrain. Emirates has deployed the A380 on one-off missions to the Bahrain on six previous occasions, including during Eid travel periods, and on Bahrain’s National Day in 2017. On December 13, Emirates took delivery of its 117th Airbus A380 aircraft, the second superjumbo to join its fleet this month. The airline added that it will also soon receive its next A380, its first with the long-awaited signature Premium Economy.
