Emirates Starts Stockholm Services

Emirates will be looking to funnel Swedes onto its Asian, Indian and African network.

Emirates has launched daily non-stop services to Stockholm.

EK157 departs Dubai at 0715 and lands in Stockholm at 1200 and the return, EK158, departs Stockholm at 1355, arriving in Dubai at 2255. The route is operated by a three-class Boeing 777-200LR.

Emirates will be eyeing large transfer opportunities with Swedes now able to access many points across Asia, India and Africa via Dubai, while Emirates SkyCargo offers 17 tonnes of belly-hold cargo capacity between the two cities.

Stockholm is a growing centre for business, industry and services with an average annual GDP growth of 3.5 per cent forecast for the coming years.

Emirates will compete for Gulf and transit traffic with Qatar Airways, which launched services to Stockholm in 2007.
