Home Transport Aviation Emirates Starts Budapest Flights New route enhances Hungarian capital’s connectivity to eastern markets by Dominic Ellis October 28, 2014 Emirates has started direct daily services to Budapest, operating a two-class A330-200 aircraft on the route. Outbound service EK111 departs Dubai 0820 and arrives at Budapest Airport at 1135 local time. Return flight EK112 takes off from Budapest at 1505 and lands at Dubai International Airport at 2330 local time. Emirates President Tim Clark said the new route will bolster Budapest’s global connectivity, particularly to Asian and Australasian markets such as Taipei, Phuket and Sydney. Emirates becomes the first full-service airline to fly between the two cities although Wizz Air also serves Budapest from Al Maktoum International. The new route coincides with the opening of the airline’s Customer Contact Centre in the city, providing 300 jobs. Leisure traffic is likely to be strong to Budapest which attracts tourists to its World Heritage sites, Danube river trips, restaurants and shops. The Dubai carrier launched services to two other European cities, Oslo and Brussels, last month. 0 Comments
