Emirates Starts A380 San Francisco Flights

Houston will also join the airline’s superjumbo network this week

Emirates’ first A380 flight to San Francisco took off from Dubai International today.

EK225 departs Dubai daily at 0850 and lands in San Francisco at 1250 (same day), with EK226 departing the US west coast city at 1530 and arriving in Dubai at 1925 the following day.

Houston will also be upgraded to an A380 on Wednesday. Both routes were served by B777-300ER aircraft.

The widebody capacity is stacking up to and from the Gulf with Etihad starting flights to San Francisco last month (click here).

Since 2007, Emirates has carried over 2.3 million passengers on its San Francisco and Houston routes, and the A380 will allow it to connect more people and boost trade links between both cities and the Middle East, Indian subcontinent and Africa.

Milan also joins Emirates’ A380 network this week.
