Home Transport Aviation Emirates starts A380 Dusseldorf flights Western city becomes third in Germany to welcome the superjumbo by Dominic Ellis July 2, 2015 Emirates has introduced A380 flights between Dubai and Dusseldorf and completed a ‘one off’ A380 service to Prague to mark the route’s fifth anniversary. The west German business city becomes the third in the country to welcome a regular Emirates A380, alongside Munich and Frankfurt, and the double-decker’s capacity will raise competition for international and through-traffic with Lufthansa and Etihad-backed Air Berlin. If Prague follows the ‘one off’ form book, it may well become a regular A380 service in time. Emirates’ upcoming A380 destinations in Europe including Madrid on August 1 and Copenhagen on December 1, with the latter earmarked to be the first superjumbo in a two-class configuration (58 business class seats, 557 economy seats). Emirates currently operates a scheduled A380 service to London Heathrow, London Gatwick, Manchester, Paris, Amsterdam, Rome, Milan, Frankfurt, Dusseldorf, Munich, Barcelona and Zurich. 0 Comments
