Additionally, flight operations at Dubai International Airport (DXB) have been scaled back in response to the adverse weather. In a statement addressing affected travelers, Emirates emphasised that customers arriving or departing from Dubai Airport on May 2 should anticipate delays as flights are being rescheduled to accommodate the challenging weather conditions. “We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused. Affected customers will be re-accommodated,” Emirates assured in their statement, encouraging those requiring rebooking to reach out to their travel agent or the airline directly. The airport authority said 13 flights were cancelled. Due to the weather conditions, 5 flights were diverted and 13 flights have been cancelled. The airline advised passengers to allocate additional time for their journeys to Dubai International (DXB), whether by car or public transport, considering potential delays. Passengers were further urged to update their contact details through the Manage Booking tab on the Flydubai website and monitor the Flight Status section for real-time updates on their flight schedules. The announcements come amidst ongoing weather challenges across the UAE, prompting both airlines to take precautionary measures to ensure the safety and convenience of passengers during this period of disrupted travel.
