Home Transport Aviation Emirates To Cut Three Kiev Flights The reduction follows ongoing political unrest in Ukraine. by Dominic Ellis April 9, 2014 Emirates will be reducing its recently launched Kiev services to four times weekly from May 2. EK171 will no longer operate on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and the return flight (EK172), which departs at 0230 the next day, will be cancelled on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The reduction follows ongoing political unrest in Ukraine and comes as little surprise commercially, although the decision will be one that Emirates won’t have taken lightly given it rarely cuts services on new routes – typically it raises them to double daily or deploys more capacity through larger aircraft. The Dubai carrier started daily services to Kiev on A340-500 aircraft in January. Passengers already booked on the cancelled flights will be contacted by Emirates’ reservations team for rebooking on one of the remaining four weekly services. 0 Comments
