Over two million gallons of blended sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) will be delivered to Schiphol’s fuelling system throughout 2024. The deal signed in October last year marks a significant step towards reducing greenhouse gas emissions in air travel. The fuel delivery represents one of the largest SAF purchases by the Dubai-based airline to date and aligns with its sustainability goals. The blended SAF incorporates over 700,000 gallons of neat SAF, a fuel with a lifecycle carbon footprint up to 80 per cent lower than conventional jet fuel. The carrier will track the environmental benefits using industry-standard methodologies. We’ve activated our fuel agreement with @NesteGlobal at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. It began using SAF on flights in 2017 and currently operate SAF-powered routes from several European cities. Additionally, the carrier has joined the UK’s Solent Cluster, aiming to create a large-scale SAF production facility.
